The question for this week is: What is your usual monthly book budget?
Usually its around 1,500 pesos if I can spare some money. Or something around $30 (sometimes less) but I don't usually buy all the books I want at once. I buy 2 this week and then I'll buy 2 the next week or so, which makes me feel like I'm spending less since I didn't use up all of it at once. :)
The question for this week: If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title?
That depends. If I think the book can technically be a stand-alone read even though its a part of the series, I'll read that especially if I'm not sure if I will really like it. Though most of the time I tend to start with the first title just so I don't miss out on anything that I might need to know so I can understand the whole thing. Like in The Iron Fey series. Even though I'm dying to read The Iron Queen, I ABSOLUTELY have to read the other two books first!

Hi there! I just started following this week, and I always enoy your posts! I've been trying to keep my book buying budget down lately, so I've been doing everything I can to get cheap books - borrow from the library, use interlibrary loans, but inevitably, I end up buying a book every week or every other week (and always hardbacks too, because I always want to read the newest thing!).
ReplyDeleteHopping through and not following you! I have to keep my book budget really low.
ReplyDeleteHopped over to say hi and wish you a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteHopping by...I am very sad to say my book budget is sad. Very sad. The more I say that on his hop, the sadder I'm getting lol. I may have to go on a spree this weekend!
ReplyDeleteHey! I'm an old follower just stopping by on the hop to wish you a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteMy monthly book budget is under $100. But I know what you mean about buying a few here and there and not realizing it.

Yes! I hate blowing all the money I have in one week. In the past I haven't really had a budget, but I think for the rest of November and December, I'm just going to buy the books I'm REALLY looking forward to - like Anna and Balefire and a few others. Old follower - have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteIf you get a chance, check out my blog :)
Right now my book budget is nonexsistent..boo!! I do get quite a few freebies though, which is nice!

Hi there Kai! <3 Just hoppin' on by. <3 I'm an old follower/lover, as you know! :D
ReplyDeleteMy book budget is $0! I'm a poor college student, so I only borrow books from the library or read in Barnes and Noble while hogging their air conditioning. :)
I can't read books mid-series. It just doesn't work that way for me. I MUST start at book 1.
Kristina @ Frazzled Book Nommer. Have a good weekend! <3
Hi! I'm stopping by from the hop :) I try to read books in the order intended, but I have had a few instances that I found I was reading a sequel. Have a blessed weekend!
