Christmas Countdown: Day 14: Every Girl's Guide Teaser + HUGE PRIZE PACK GIVEAWAY!

And so we’ve finally come to the end of Christmas Countdown. Before anything else, Precious and I would like to thank every single one of the authors who participated in our first ever blog event! For this last day, we'd like to feature a local author's work as part of our objective for this event. Believe it or not, the Philippines also has its fair share of talented writers, and one of them is Marla Miniano. You can read her interview over at Fragments of Life!

Every Girl’s Guide to Heartache is the first book in the “Every Girl’s Guide” series. This first offering features the story of Anna, who has just been dumped by Jaime, the guy she thought was the love of her life. While she is distraught, angry, and seeking for revenge, she also wants to understand how this perfect guy ended up not being The One after all. Entering the picture to complicate matters is Miguel, who is literally The Boy a Few Houses Down. Will Anna survive this heartache and be happy again, and does her happiness lie with Miguel? Or is her heart just playing tricks on her?

Every Girls's Guide to Boys is the second book in the Every Girl's Guide trilogy, and tells the story of Chrissy, who thinks her life is problem free (she even sets up an online advice column to make use of all her good girl talent) till her bestfriend, the boy she's been in live with since she was maybe five, comes back from he U.S. Now this would be a good thing if she wasn't already in an unofficial, sort-of relationship with her long-time crush, Nathan. Is it finally time for Chrissy to trash her good girl image and follow her gut? Or is she making the biggest mistake of her life?

Every Girl's Guide to Flings is the book that completes the trilogy, and feature Rickie. In her high heels, short skirts, and purple eyeliner, Rickie is known as the wayward friend of good girls Anna and Chrissy. Her string of meaningless flings, happening parties, and more boys lining up to ask her out make her the envy of every teenage girl- till she sets her sights on a very bad idea: Anna's ex. Is Rickie headed for a disaster? Or will she finally fall in love and get her very own happy ending?

If you ask me, all three books are right up my alley when it comes to books that I read. So you guys should check them out as well! Marla also has a new book out called Table for Two.

A corner table at a cozy coffee shop witnesses many things:

A long-time couple about to break up after college graduation. A young teacher accepting a dare from her teenage brother to quit dating for two months. A wedding photographer trying to convince his best friend not to get married. A boy meeting up with the girl he never quite got over. And a girl sitting alone, reading romance novels, wondering if today is the day she will stop being lonely.

Do their lives intersect and intertwine -- spiraling them through an obstacle course of love and loss and hope and heartbreak? And can they each find the happy ending they so desperately want?
