Cover Reveal: Embers & Ash (Cold Fury, #3) by T.M. Goeglein

I am so so excited to help reveal the cover for the 3rd book in the Cold Fury series by the awesome T.M. Goeglein on the blog today! This is the last installment in the Cold Fury trilogy, which I enjoyed reading. It's a bit sad to know that Sara Jane's adrenaline pumping story is coming to an end, but they made such a wonderful cover for the third book!

Sara Jane Rispoli is on the wrong side of the Russian mob, but closer to finding her family than ever. And she's willing to do whatever it takes to finally end this terrible journey even if the price is her own life.

The very cold fury that has seen her through the worst of her troubles is now killing her; she knows the cure, but she can't sacrifice the deadly electricity until she's rescued her family. But when she finally does rescue them, it's not the happy reunion she pictured. And the torment doesn't stop there, not even when she finally discovers Ultimate Power. Only destroying the Outfit completely can end this terrible nightmare.

Old enemies return to seek vengeance, double-crosses abound, and even more mysteries are uncovered as we rocket toward an end no one saw coming.

EMBERS & ASH by Ted Goeglein, the final installment in the COLD FURY trilogy from Penguin Books, coming in August 2014!

Book II, FLICKER & BURN, is out now! Visit http://www.tmgoeglein.com/index.php for more details.

A super special, two-for-one cover reveal…Cold Fury, by T.M. Goeglein, has been redesigned, as well as the second installment in the Cold Fury trilogy…Flicker & Burn!

Cold Fury in paperback will be released in June 2012…and Flicker & Burn comes roaring onto the scene in August 2013!

The thrill ride that began in Cold Fury kicks into high gear in Flicker & Burn, as the threats to Sara Jane Rispoli come at her from all directions. She continues the desperate search for her missing family, but this timeshe’s on the run from creepy beings with red, pulsing eyes and ghostly white skin chasing her through the streets of Chicago in black ice cream trucks – they canonly be described as Ice Cream Creatures. They're skeletal and ferocious, hell-bent on catching or killing her, but also a weird link to her family, a clue towhere they might be and who has them.

While Sara Jane battles these newpursuers, she learns painful lessons about the phenomenon that possesses her, cold fury. At the same time, she’s uncovering buried secrets about the misdeeds of her family – old murders and blood vendettas – that might be connected to the disappearance of her mom, dad, and brother. The mysteries, violence, and constant state of chasing or being chased could be the undoing of her relationship with handsome Max Kissberg. Despite the love growing between them, Sara Jane can’t tell him the truth about her life, and fears for his safety.

Not only do the Ice Cream Creatures display the grisly amputated finger of her mom to prove their viciousness, and not only does Lucky, the Outfit Boss of Bosses, whistle in Sara Jane for a sit-down with deadly consequences, but her gorgeous cousin, Heather Richards, enters the scene, as well. All that matters to Sara Jane is saving her family and keeping everyone she loves alive and safe. But the forces she encounters, both external and the ones crackling inside of her, fight her every step of the way.

Interview w/ T.M. Goeglein + Cold Fury Giveaway!

Hi everyone!

Today I have one awesome (I mean it! He's all sorts of awesome~) debut author T.M. Goeglein, who saved Tin and I from a life of crime, the details of which I can't disclose because of the highly sensitive information involved. We're kidding about the highly sensitive information part, but Theodore really is awesome. And we were able to get a hold of him to bring you this very informative interview. Enjoy!

Describe Cold Fury in one sentence.

After her parents and younger brother mysteriously disappear, leaving behind a scene of violence and destruction, sixteen-year-old Sara Jane Rispoli uses a tattered old notebook full of secrets to discover that her family belongs to the Chicago criminal organization, the Outfit, and that only she has the inherent power to save them.

Are you secretly a member of a mob? Why choose it as a theme for your book?

I can't claim a direct connection to the Outfit, but then again, this is Chicago, where everyone knows someone who knows a guy who...anyway, you get the picture.

Did you ever base any of your characters on real person(s)?

Sara Jane is a composite of several real people. Rather than base her on one person, I selected traits I admire in many of my friends and family members, especially tenacity. Sara Jane is the most determined person I know, which is absolutely necessary in any survival situation. Also, she has a self deprecating sense of humor...without that particular characteristic, a person is doomed to a life of taking themselves seriously. Ugh.

What is the best thing that a reviewer (or someone) said about your novel?

I'm paraphrasing, but a well-regarded YA author recently said that it's a good sign when she's reading a book and already thinking of who to recommend it to--and already has a long list for Cold Fury.

Can you give us one line from your novel that you find important, striking or unforgettable?

Actually, three short lines that build on one another: "As long as I keep moving, I should be OK. As long as I keep the notebook with me, I should stay alive. This is not what I thought life would be like when I turned sweet sixteen."

-----

So how are you guys doing so far? It wasn't a one-liner but that was indeed unforgettable!

Add Cold Fury to your Goodreads list

Sara Jane Rispoli is just a normal sixteen-year-old girl coping with school and a developing crush— until her parents and younger brother are kidnapped, and she discovers her family has been a key figure of Chicago’s Outfit (aka the mob) for decades. Her father, grandfather and great grandfather all used their special ability, cold fury, to settle disputes between the two mob factions—the muscle and the money. And unless Sara wants the mob to think her now missing family has turned state’s evidence, she will have to fill her father’s shoes as the mob’s peacemaker, using her own cold fury.

Cold Fury will be released by Putnam Juvenile on July 24, 2012

And if you haven't heard of it yet, Sara Jane, the main protagonist of Cold Fury, has a journal and she's posting webisodes. First one is up now (and scared the life out of me!):

GIVEAWAY ALERT! WIN AN ARC OF COLD FURY BY T.M. GOEGLEIN!

Yes, you. You have a chance to read the book at least 6 months before the release. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?

Don't forget to answer this question: If you have a special ability, what would it be? And would you risk using it and be discovered (or worse, die) to save someone (or your family) from certain harm? or your entries will not count!

Following me isn't necessary but if you do, it will be greatly appreciated. Fill out the rafflecopter form below and follow the instructions! (If the form doesn't load the first time, try refreshing your browser. Make sure that javascript is enabled in your browser!)
