Waiting on Wednesday (82)

I feel like I've done a lot of things this week and it's just Wednesday. I am so tired. Am I busy or what?

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine

Anyway, here are the books we are featuring this week. Tin and I are pretty much in agreement when we say we are beyond excited for these two books!

Title: Heart-Shaped Bruise by Tanya Byrne
Release Date: May 10th 2012

Summary (from Goodreads):

They say I'm evil. The police. The newspapers. The girls from school who shake their heads on the six o’clock news and say they always knew there was something not quite right about me. And everyone believes it. Including you. But you don't know. You don't know who I used to be.

Who I could have been.

Awaiting trial at Archway Young Offenders Institution, Emily Koll is going to tell her side of the story for the first time.

Heart-Shaped Bruise is a compulsive and moving novel about infamy, identity and how far a person might go to seek revenge.

Why I'm waiting for Heart-Shaped Bruise:

Even though the cover doesn't make it look like a YA novel at all, I loved it because of the story. There's something in the summary that makes me want to read about a bad girl. Who wouldn't want to know what's inside the head of one?

Title: Preloved by Shirley Marr
Release Date: April 1st 2012
Published by: Black Dog Books/Walker Books

Summary (from Goodreads):

If you had a second chance at love, would you do it all over again?

Amy has enough to deal with for one lifetime. A superstitious Chinese mother. A best friend whose mood changes as dramatically as her hair colour. A reputation for being strange. The last thing she needs is to be haunted by someone only she can see.

Logan is a ghost from the Eighties. He could be dangerous. He's certainly annoying.

He might also be Amy's dream boy.

Why I'm waiting for Preloved:

Well look at how gorgeous that cover is! And hey, it's Shirley Marr! Fury was awesome and I was so excited when I stumbled upon this book on Goodreads! Falling in love with a ghost from the past... it reminds me a bit of Catastrophic History!

So what are you waiting for this week?

  21. Yes, I definitely want to read Heart Shaped Bruise, but why do the title & cover have to look like a rip-off of Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill?

I love getting comments from my readers and fellow bookworms, and I try my best to respond to all of them. Feel free to give me a piece of your thoughts. Also, this is an award-free blog. I simply don't have the time to highlight them anymore, but thank you for thinking of my blog!
