Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine
Title: The Fury by Alexander Gordon SmithWant? Add to your Goodreads shelf!
Release Date: April 5th 2012
Published by: Faber and Faber
Summary (from Goodreads):
Imagine if one day, without warning, the entire human race turns against you.
Every single person you meet becomes a bloodthirsty, mindless savage, hell-bent on killing you – and only you.
Friends, family, even your mum and dad, will turn on you. They will murder you.
And when they have, they will go back to their lives as if nothing has happened.
The world has the Fury.
It will not rest until you are dead.
Cal, Brick and Daisy are three ordinary teenagers whose lives suddenly take a terrifying turn for the worst. They begin to trigger a reaction in everybody they meet, one that makes friends and strangers alike turn rabid whenever they are close. One that makes people want to tear them to pieces
Cal and the other victims of the Fury – the ones that survive – manage to locate each other. But just when they think they have found a safe place to hide from the world, some of them begin to change...
They must fight to uncover the truth about the Fury before it's too late. But it is a truth that will destroy everything they know about life and death
Why I'm waiting for The Fury:
Well who wouldn't want to read a book like this? I'd be freaked out too if every single person in the world is suddenly out to kill me, and that they won't stop until it's done. It's like 28 Days Later, reminds me of the "rage" virus but they only want YOU to die. Like a mob of assassins out for you. It's too frightening to even think of the possibility, but this is one I surely would want to read. What do you think?
Title: The Thing About the Truth by Lauren BarnholdtWant? Add to your Goodreads shelf!
Release Date: July 10th 2012
Published by: Simon Pulse
Summary (from Goodreads):
Sixteen-year-old Kelsey Romano has always been one of the most popular girls at Concordia Prep. But after a disastrous breakup and her subsequent meltdown (um, destruction of school property, anyone?) she's kicked out of Con Prep and shipped off to Concordia High School, for good.
Seventeen-year-old Isaac Brandano has been kicked out of more prep schools than he can name. But now that his father's State Senate campaign is pushing a public school agenda, Isaac finds himself enrolled at Concordia High.
Kelsey and Isaac are destined to hate each other. And at first, they do. But when they are forced together on the creation of a new school club, sparks begin to fly. Then the club's critical event turns into chaos. Now Kelsey and Isaac must retrace their steps and figure out how and why everything got so got screwed up, who was to blame, and how they can move forward.
This new novel from fan-favorite Lauren Barnholdt showcases--through a sweet and sparkly narrative--how the last person you expect might just be the one who changes your life forever.
Why I'm waiting for The Thing About the Truth:
So what happens when two problem kids meet? Kelsey and Isaac both have issues and suddenly they find themselves on the same boat. There's something in Lauren Barnholdt's books that just makes me want to read them. It's like a guilty pleasure. I have small issues with them, but I love how each book of hers deals with a lot of teenage problems and themes I can always relate to. And this one comes out on my birthday! So I'm definitely getting a copy.
