I was always skeptic reading books with less than 200 pages. It's rare to see authors who can wrap up a story neatly with few pages to work on, and Renee Carter does good use of all 196 pages.
It's wonderful to read how it's possible for someone to fall in love with another he can't even see. That's what happened to Tristan, and I've always been curious with "how" it's going to happen. Renee was able to write about how one even without eyesight can love, and it's what made me love this book. Tristan can be stubborn and unaccepting, even difficult, while Aimee, reluctant at first, finds herself helping Tristan, because that's just like her, nice to everyone.
Predictable, but very sweet, typical and very cliche, His Eyes is a novel which will make you giggle and laugh and sympathize with the characters. There are characters we can all relate to, crazy moms, strict dads, estranged older brothers, cute and fun little brothers and sister and raving lunatic ex-girlfriends, His Eyes has a little bit of everything.
I recommend this book if you want to read something cute and fun!

Is this Tristan?
Aww, this one sounds very cute! :) I'm kind of curious as to how a blind person falls in love as well, especially when he's seen his hot ex-girlfriend. I mean, I know it's possible and it happens, but I just want to see it in perspective. My TBR suffers so much because of you, darn you, Kai! :P
ReplyDeleteIt is cute! very! I don't know, but it's a bit more intense? There's a scene in the book where Tristan wanted to know what Aimee looked like, and that part when he ran his fingers through every detail of her face just made me squirm. Intense, I tell you!
