Title: The Dark Light by Sara WalshWant? Add to your Goodreads list!
Release Date: August 28th 2012
Published by: Simon Pulse
Summary (from Goodreads):
Mysterious lights have flickered above Crownsville for as long as Mia can remember. And as far as she’s concerned, that’s about the only interesting thing to happen in her small town.
That is, until Sol arrives. Mia’s not one to fall for just any guy, but she can’t get intense Sol—or the brilliant tattoo on his back—out of her mind.
Then Mia’s brother goes missing, and Mia’s convinced that Sol knows more than he’s sharing. But getting closer to Sol means reevaluating everything she once believed to be true. Because Sol’s not who Mia thought he was—and neither is she.
Why I'm waiting for The Dark Light:
That is one hot back. I mean cover. *cough* So what does a guy with a gorgeous tattoo of an Eagle (a Peregrine?) have to do with the mysterious lights in Mia's town of Crownsville? I am so intrigued. The summary doesn't give away much but I love the mysterious, paranormal vibe I am getting from this novel. I love the guy's name too. Sol. Sun? Does that have anything to do with the story at all? I am going to stop asking questions now. Obviously, this is my type of novel!
Title: Burning Blue by Paul GriffinWant? Add to your Goodreads list!
Release Date: October 25th 2012
Published by: Dial
Summary (from Goodreads):
When Nicole Castro, the most beautiful girl in her wealthy New Jersey high school, is splashed with acid on the left side of her perfect face, the whole world takes notice. But quiet loner Jay Nazarro does more than that—he decides to find out who did it. Jay understands how it feels to be treated like a freak, and he also has a secret: He's a brilliant hacker. But the deeper he digs, the more danger he's in—and the more he falls for Nicole. Too bad everyone is turning into a suspect, including Nicole herself.
Why I'm waiting for Burning Blue:
I've heard a lot of great things about Paul Griffin's writing, and I really want to read his novel, Stay With Me, and finding out that he's releasing a new novel just made me so happy. I don't have a lot of favorite male YA authors, and his books sounds like those I'd really love. Like this one! What makes me want to read this is that intrigue factor and Nicole's condition. It sounds terrifying, horrifying, sad and really heavy.

ReplyDeleteThe Dark Light sounds super intriguing. It's obvious something supernatural is going on, but just what isn't revealed and that makes me curious. I'm going to have to keep my eye out for this, thanks for sharing.

Burning Blue is also one of my WoW picks this week! I haven't read Stay With Me either, but this one sounds like there'll be both a lot of psychology involved and a mystery component. And I think the cover's quite well-designed, too!
