Anyway, here are our two picks this week!
Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine
Title: Never Let You Go by Emma Carlson BerneWant? Add it to your Goodreads list!
Release Date: Fall 2012
Published by: Simon Pulse
Summary (from Goodreads):
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. . .
You always want what you can’t have.
Megan never meant to hurt her best friend Anna. She made a mistake, and she’s spent all year trying to regain Anna’s trust. So when Anna invites her to spend the summer on her uncle’s farm, Megan is excited…and relieved. The past is finally behind them.
On the farm, Anna quickly falls for Jordan, a rugged summer-hand. Megan and Jordan have their own spark, but Megan’s betrayed Anna once before and she’s not about to do it again.
Still, the more time that Megan and Jordan spend together, the harder it is to deny their chemistry. But Anna doesn’t like to be ignored—and she doesn’t forgive and forget. What started out as the perfect summer is about to take a very dark turn….
Why I'm waiting for Never Let You Go:
I've been on the look out for YA contemps this year and I cannot believe this escaped me! It sounds a little bit like Choker and Shift combined into one hair raising thriller YA novel. Friendships, betrayals and a dangerous summer in a farm? Count me in! I can't wait for it! And the girl in the cover looks so fierce and scary I think I'll have nightmares if I look at her for too long.
Title: Forget Me Not by Carolee DeanWant? Add to your Goodreads list!
Release Date: October 2012
Published by: Simon Pulse
Summary (from Goodreads):
Ally is devastated when a scandalous photo of her is texted around school. With her reputation in shambles and her life essentially over, she hides out in a back hallway, trying to figure out where everything went wrong.
Elijah has spent time in that hallway too. He landed there after taking a whole bottle of sleeping pills. Now he can see ghosts, and he knows what Ally has yet to suspect—that she's already half dead, and one choice away from never coming back.
Elijah has loved Ally for years and would do anything to save her from her in-between place. But if she’s going to live, Ally must face her inner demons, and find the will to save herself.
Why I'm waiting for Forget Me Not:
Because I love reading Carolee Dean's novels! Take Me There was good! Forget Me Not sounds every bit as heavy and emotional as Take Me There. I think we can expect a few tears will be shed when we get the chance to read this book. There's just something about reading of a story about two people with a broken spirit finding a way to each other and getting that will to live on.
