Title: The Princesses of Iowa by M. Molly BackesWant? Add to your Goodreads shelf!
Release Date: May 8th 2012
Published by: Candlewick
Summary (from Goodreads):
This is supposed to be Paige's year at Willow Grove High, when the perfect clothes, perfect friends, and perfect boyfriend pay off in a coveted spot on the homecoming court. But that was before last spring's drunken crash, the one that got Paige exiledto Paris for the summer and sent fissures through the bedrock of her friendships. Now Paige is back in Iowa, but nothing seems the same, not even her two BFFs. Nikki, the one behind the wheel that night, is scary thin, being eaten away at by guilt. Lacey now walks with a limp — and a major chip on her shoulder. Even Paige's boyfriend, Jake, seems distant, more concerned with being there for poor, crippled Lacey than for Paige herself. The only bright spot is Paige's creative writing class, taught by an inspiring new teacher who encourages them to be true to themselves. But who is Paige, exactly, away from her growing-apart friends, her small-town beau, and her goal to be homecoming royalty? In an arresting debut, M. Molly Backes takes a hard look at high school's rituals and revelations, probing surprising depths as she hits all the beats.
Why I'm waiting for The Princesses of Iowa:
There's a slew of contemporary books coming out 2012, and there seems to be a lot of contemporary books about car crashes and it's aftermath releasing next year. This one sounds particularly emotional and deep. I like the word "arresting", which might mean a lot of great things. What do you guys think?
Title: Never Enough by Denise JadenWant? Add to your Goodreads shelf!
Release Date: July 2012
Published by: Simon Pulse
Summary (from Goodreads):
Loann’s always wanted to be popular and pretty like her sister, Claire. So when Claire’s ex-boyfriend starts flirting with her, Loann is willing to do whatever it takes to feel special…even if that means betraying her sister.
But as Loann slips inside Claire’s world, she discovers that everything is not as it seems. Claire’s quest for perfection is all-consuming, and comes at a dangerous price. As Claire increasingly withdraws from friends and family, Loann struggles to understand her and make amends. Can she heal their relationship—and her sister—before it’s too late?
Why I'm waiting for Never Enough:
Probably one of the simplest and prettiest cover I've ever seen. I like the cover colors too. I loved Denise Jaden's Losing Faith, and this one sounds just as fabulous. I've always loved sister-themed books, and this one sounds worth the read.
