Release Date: December 27th 2011
Published by: Greenwillow Books
Summary (from Goodreads):
Leah has the life most high school girls would kill for—popularity, glowing grades, a rich, athletic boyfriend. So why does she feel like she can’t breathe? And why can’t she stop thinking about the boy from the country club? The one who isn’t her boyfriend, the one that her mother would never, ever approve of, the one that her perfect older sisters would never, ever look at twice. The one who is always looking back at her. Irresistible attraction, smoldering glances, the bad boy and the good girl—Kiss Crush Collide has everything that a steamy forbidden romance should, and then some.
With graceful and honest writing and an electric love story, this is a book about growing into your own skin. For fans of Perfect Chemistry, Sarah Dessen, and John Green.
Why I'm waiting for Kiss Crush Collide:
There's that magic words there: "Perfect Chemistry". Just looking at the cover, the first thing you'll remember is Simone Elkeles' masterpiece. I worship the Perfect Chemistry series and if that's what we can all expect from this book then please let me read it soon! It has this vibe of contemporary writing at its best, so I'm definitely going to be on the look out for this one!
Title: The Juliet Spell by Douglas ReesWant? Add to your Goodreads shelf!
Release Date: September 20th 2011
Published by: Harlequin Teen
Summary (from Goodreads):
Hoping to win the role of Juliet in her school play, Miri Hoberman casts a fame spell for help. And winds up with Shakespeare in her kitchen. Well, Edmund Shakespeare, Will's younger brother. He's from the past—way past. But something about him makes her feel a little star-crossed...
Why I'm waiting for The Juliet Spell:
I love everything Romeo and Juliet inspired. I devour re-tellings of their tragic story, and this book is somehow related to Romeo and Juliet. That's a serious plot twist right there. Shakespeare's brother? Wow. Maybe he inspired the story behind Romeo and Juliet? I'd like to know... wow, I'm now very curious about this book! I haven't read Douglas' other book, Majix, but this one sounds just like a book I'd read!
Title: Destined by Jessie HarrellWant? Add to your Goodreads shelf!
Release Date: November 17th 2011
Published by: Mae Day Publishing
Summary (from Goodreads):
When Psyche receives a prophecy gone horribly wrong, she learns that even the most beautiful girl in Greece can have a hideous future. Her fate? Fall in love with the one creature even the gods fear.
As she feels herself slipping closer into the arms of the prophecy, Psyche must choose between the terrifyingly tender touch she feels almost powerless to resist and the one constant she's come to expect out of life: you cannot escape what is destined.
Destined is a fresh and heartachingly romantic retelling of the Cupid & Psyche myth from debut novelist, Jessie Harrell
Why I'm waiting for Destined:
Another wonderful sounding Greek mythology re-telling! One of the most popular stories aside from Hades & Persephone's are of Cupid and Psyche. I don't remember much about it, aside from what I've read in Suzanne Selfors' Mad Love (heart breaking story, by the way) but this sounds very intriguing!
Yeah! Kiss, Crush, Collide made me think of Perfect Chemistry right away. I'm definitely adding it to my list. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of The Juliet Spell before but it looks like fun - have added it to my tbr! Also I like the tale of Cupid & Psyche so I'll be keeping my eye out for Destined too.
ReplyDeleteYou always have such great picks! Kiss, Crush, Collide sounds intense -- I want it!
ReplyDeleteOkay, all of these are really awesome picks!
ReplyDeleteI have to say that Destined sounds the most appealing to me because I am a sucker for Greek Mythology. Thanks so much for the heads up on this, because I hadn't heard of it before!

This week’s WoW: Darker Still
Ooh, Kiss Crush Collide sounds great! I like the cover, too. :) Great picks!
ReplyDeleteI've only heard of Kiss Crush Collide but I'm adding the other two to my wishlist too. I love Greek mythology.
ReplyDeleteJust added this to my Goodreads list! It sounds really good.
ReplyDeleteKiss Crush Collide really doesn't seem like my thing..but the other two? On my wishlist straight away. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteAs I think I've said before... you have such awesome picks. I also love retellings so the Romeo & Juliet one sounds delightful, especially with that twist about Shakespeare's brother. I like the sound of Destined too, but I've never read the Cupid & Psyche myth before / didn't know that he's a creature even gods fear. I like Greek mythology but don't know enough about it. Thanks for sharing these!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of these!
ReplyDeleteThanks
Kiss
Crush
Collide sounds so good!... adding it now =)
