Waiting on Wednesday (45): Books I Wish I Have Now! Edition

I have just recently realized how jealous I was of those who went to BEA and those who will go and attend ALA. Why don't we have bookish events like that here? Tsk.

So today I am highlighting books I wish I have because I am just DYING to read them! I'm sure you are too! :)

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine

Title: The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith

Summary (from Goodreads):

Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?

Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. She's stuck at JFK, late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon to be step-mother that Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's in seat 18B. Hadley's in 18A.

Twists of fate and quirks of timing play out in this thoughtful novel about family connections, second chances and first loves. Set over a 24-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.

Why I'm waiting for The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight:

Have I featured this book before? No? If I have then I'm featuring it again because its super special! I was purposely avoiding reading any early reviews for this book because this is my most awaited for Contemporary book for 2011. Really. The title was enough to attract my attention and I've pining for this ever since! Will this book be as successful as Anna and the French Kiss? Oliver's British. I have weakness over guys with British accents. *waves at Etienne* It's a love story set in a 24-hour period, how cool is that?

I don't know about any of you but I am so very excited to read this book. I'd give anything to have a copy of this! And 2012 is still a long wait!

Title: The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
Release Date: October 18th 2011
Published by: Scholastic Press
Want? Add to your Goodreads shelf!
Summary (from Goodreads):

It happens at the start of every November: the Scorpio Races. Riders attempt to keep hold of their water horses long enough to make it to the finish line.

Some riders live.
Others die.

At age nineteen, Sean Kendrick is the returning champion. He is a young man of few words, and if he has any fears, he keeps them buried deep, where no one else can see them.

Puck Connolly is different. She never meant to ride in the Scorpio Races. But fate hasn't given her much of a chance. So she enters the competition — the first girl ever to do so. She is in no way prepared for what is going to happen.

Why I'm waiting for The Scorpio Races:

Be honest, everyone. Raise your hand if you're as excited as I am for this book! I have only read the first book in her The Wolves of Mercy Falls series but I love Maggie Stiefvater's writing already!

What are water horses? And is it just me or this sounds like a star crossed lovers kind of plot (which I obviously love) I love tragic romances!

Title: Melody Burning by Whitley Strieber
Release Date: December 6th 2011
Published by: Henry Holt and Co. (BYR)
Want? Add to your Goodreads shelf!
Summary (from Goodreads):

Beresford doesn’t remember much about his past or how he came to live in the chutes and crawl spaces of the posh high-rise that shares his name. But when rock star and teen sensation Melody McGrath moves to an apartment on the fiftieth floor, he knows he has to be near her. Although she doesn’t realize it, Melody is threatened by more dangerous forces than her manipulative stage mom and the pressures of life in the spotlight. The owner of the glamorous building has been hiding a fatal secret within its walls, and Beresford puts all his plans at risk. Will Beresford and Melody be able to escape with their lives (and love) intact?

Bestselling author Whitley Strieber makes his young adult debut with this pulsing romantic thriller.

Why I'm waiting for Melody Burning:

Beresford. That sounds like an old guy's name. Very unique. A rockstar and a guy who shares the name with the building but couldn't remember his past. How interesting can this be?

I haven't read any YA romance thriller in a while, and Melody Burning sounds like a book I'd pick up in a heartbeat!

I love getting comments from my readers and fellow bookworms, and I try my best to respond to all of them. Feel free to give me a piece of your thoughts. Also, this is an award-free blog. I simply don't have the time to highlight them anymore, but thank you for thinking of my blog!
