Title: Roadside Assistance by Amy ClipstonWhy I'm waiting for Roadside Assistance:
Release Date: April 12th 2011
Published by: Zondervan
Summary (from Goodreads):
A very bumpy ride. Emily Curtis is used to dealing with her problems while under the hood of an old Chevy, but when her mom dies, Emily's world seems shaken beyond repair. Driven from home by hospital bills they can't pay, Emily and her dad move in with his wealthy sister, who intends to make her niece more feminine---in other words, just like Whitney, Emily's perfect cousin. But when Emily hears the engine of a 1970 Dodge Challenger, and sees the cute gearhead, Zander, next door, things seem to be looking up. But even working alongside Zander can't completely fix the hole in Emily's life. Ever since her mom died, Emily hasn't been able to pray, and no one---not even Zander---seems to understand. But sometimes the help you need can come from the person you least expect.
After reading The Beautiful Between, I've suddenly liked to reading mellow, laid back, more of a Young Adult contemp book that deals a lot with more real world problems, and in a way, religion. I know this book is Christian Fiction, and I have this big book craving to find books like Caleb & Kate. Roadside Assistance sounds like a great read.
Title: Just Your Average Princess by Kristina SpringerWhy I'm waiting for Just Your Average Princess:
Release Date: October 11th 2011
Published by: Farrar, Straus and Giroux (BYR)
Summary (from Goodreads):
Jamie Edwards has loved growing up on her family’s pumpkin patch in Average, IL, and she’s always dreamed of one day being the town’s Pumpkin Princess at the annual Pumpkin Festival. But when her rich and famous cousin, Milan Woods, comes to town and changes everything, Jamie knows she has to expose Milan for who she really is and teach her that life’s not all pumpkins and apple butter at the patch.
One word. Competition! I don't know if you can call it evil but I love it when cousins fight for something like this. It's actually pretty cute. I used to do this with my female cousins when I was younger, trying to find out who's prettier, who's kinder, who's more popular. Jamie looks like she's in for a tough fight with her cousin. Ah... the things you have to do to become a princess. :)
P.S. I loved The Espressologist, Kristina's other book!
Title: Switch by Tish CohenWhy I'm waiting for Switch:
Release Date: May 24th 2011
Published by: EgmontUSA
Summary (from Goodreads):
Good girl, honour-roll lifer, Berkeley-bound, mildly neurotic, high strung twelfth grader Andrea Birch just wants a bit of privacy. Oh, and perhaps a bit more of a social life. Or just a life in general. But when your mom and dad are foster parents who can’t turn away a child, trying to carve out a little space for yourself while tending to the needs of everyone from twin toddlers to angst-ridden adolescents is nearly impossible. And then Joules Adams, daughter of internationally famous rock star Nigel Adams, jumps into Andrea’s car, setting off an improbable car chase and ending in detention.
For Andrea, it’s the last straw. Why is it that Joules, breaker of all rules, living a life of luxury, gets off so easy? Why does she have everything, including a cool famous dad, and Andrea has nothing, not even her parents’ full attention?
In a modern, hip take on the classic Freaky Friday story, Tish Cohen delivers a fresh look at wishing your life was someone else’s.
It does remind me of Freaky Friday, Young Adult version! Or maybe a bit of Princess and the Pauper? Did they switch bodies? Lives? That would be nice. I feel for Andrea. Some kid just have all the luck in the world. This sounds like one of those "there's more to it than what you see" types of story, which I really really like. Who knows? Maybe Joules' life isn't as great as Andrea thinks it is.
So what are you all waiting for this week?
Nice covers! I haven't heard of those books until no, so thanks for sharing!

I'm very eager to get my hands on Switch! The whole body-swap idea has always fascinated me and I enjoyed watching movies like that when I was a kid. Haven't read it in YA yet, so very interesting to see how Switch pulls it off.
