NaNoWriMo 2010: 3 more days before the madness starts!

So here I am again participating in a month long writing frenzy that is NaNoWriMo.

For those of you who are not familiar with NaNo, remember that November is the National Novel Writing Month. NaNoWriMo is a yearly event where participants try to write a 50,000 word novel in 1 month from November 1st to the 30th. 50k words. 1 month. Madness indeed.

If you're an aspiring writer, NaNo is a nice (and torturous) way of getting "published". I know a few popular novels which started out as NaNo novels (Denise Jaden's Losing Faith and Sara Gruen's Water for Elephants to name a few) and you might have come across them at one point. More details here.

This is my fourth year to participate, and sadly, I haven't "won" and conquered that 50,000 word challenge for the past three years. I hope this year, I win though. I want to have that shiny badge that says I did it! *crosses fingers*

My novel specifics

Genre: YA Paranormal
What its about: It's loosely based on the ancient Chinese Legend about "The Red String of Fate". If you are familiar with Jrock and have listened to the GazettE, I got my inspiration from the PV (promotional video) of their song, RED. I'm still figuring out what to do with major plot points, but that's basically what my NaNo novel will be about.

Want to become writing buddies? Feel free to add me! Just click on the badge I have attached on the right sidebar of my blog, or click HERE. Filipino Wrimos, you guys should join us in the kick-off party on the 30th! Check your inboxes for details! The kick-off chat is on the 31st!

I love getting comments from my readers and fellow bookworms, and I try my best to respond to all of them. Feel free to give me a piece of your thoughts. Also, this is an award-free blog. I simply don't have the time to highlight them anymore, but thank you for thinking of my blog!
