Hello, lovely readers!

It's mail week, so I'm off to check the packages I got. Who's excited? Me! Anyway, we have two very different picks on the blog today. What do you think? Check them out!

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine

Summary (from Goodreads):

A year after Janey’s suicide, her friends reunite at a remote Spanish villa, desperate to put the past behind them. However, an unwelcome guest arrives claiming to have evidence that Jane was murdered. When she is found floating in the pool, it becomes clear one of them is a killer. Only one thing is for certain, surviving this holiday is going to be murder…

Why I'm waiting for Cruel Summer:

I haven't read any of his books, but this one sounds really intriguing. I love a YA mystery thriller and this one is right up my alley. Even the summary gives you that sense of impending doom and I really like that!

Title: Frozen (Heart of Dread #1) by Melissa de la Cruz and Michael Johnston
Release Date: September 17th 2013
Published by: Putnam Juvenile

Summary (from Goodreads):

Set in 111 C.D., one hundred and eleven years after a Catastrophic Disaster has wiped out 99% of humanity and left the earth covered in ice, this new series introduces readers to a ragtag group of friends and the dawning of a new time. The world of reason, of mathematics and science, is ending, and a new civilization is being born from the ice: a world of magic and mayhem, sorcerers and spellcraft.

Why I'm waiting for Frozen:

Do you really have to ask? It's a Melissa de la Cruz book! As a fellow Filipina, I am such a big fan of hers and I loved her Blue Bloods series, so I was so ecstatic when I found out that she has a new book releasing that is completely different from the series I've read. Interesting plot too. Science making way for Magic?

  1. Hmmm, that's interesting. They both have similar covers, but that's where the similarities end :-)

I love getting comments from my readers and fellow bookworms, and I try my best to respond to all of them. Feel free to give me a piece of your thoughts. Also, this is an award-free blog. I simply don't have the time to highlight them anymore, but thank you for thinking of my blog!
