Scholastic Asian Book Awards 2014: Open for submissions!

Calling all my creative, amazing writing friends and buddies! Scholastic is inviting Asian writers to submit their stories for the Scholastic Asian Book Awards (SABA*) 2014. For those who have been searching for a big break in writing, this is the perfect opportunity to grab for regional exposure and potential publishing of your work, as the winning manuscript will be considered by Scholastic Asia for publishing aside from the prize money.

* SABA is a joint initiative of the National Book Development Council of Singapore and Scholastic.

Some of the guidelines for submission:
  • Submissions must be in English
  • Only 1 submission is allowed per writer
  • The story must be set in Asia
  • The manuscript must be unpublished or uncontracted to any publisher until the winner is announced
  • The manuscript must be a chapter book or a novel with 6,000 words or more
  • The story must be original
  • The writer must be 18 years old, currently living in Asia (see list of Asian countries)
