It's only Wednesday and I am extremely tired already. *sigh* How's your week so far?

Summary (from Goodreads):

Ori Taylor is the lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter of the Band To Be Named Later, a garage band he started with his friends. After years of being known as the mini version of his sports-star brother, Del, Ori is looking forward to stepping out of his older brother's shadow, learning to perform in public, and rocking the Battle of the Bands contest. Oh, and maybe finally working up the nerve to talk to a girl in person instead of just over e-mail. But when Del suddenly returns from college, he expects Ori to step back into his role of little brother, just when Ori is starting to come into his own.
With his confidence wavering, will Ori be able to overcome his stage fright and lead the band to rock glory? Will the Band To Be Named Later ever get a real name? Will their best performances remain in the garage?
Denise Vega's deft exploration of brothers, bands, friends, and crushes promises to have readers tuning in page after page, because among all the ups and downs of being a teen, one thing's for sure: It's hard to rock out in high school.

Why I'm waiting for Rock On:

Are you kidding? A band named "Band To Be Named Later"? It sounds really cute. I love books about music and usually it's always about the girls, and I find it quite intriguing reading a book through a guy's point of view. It's like Flavors of Dumb mixed with Indigo Blues. I'd love to see how Ori will stop being a shadow of his brother's Del's.

Summary (from Goodreads):

An all-day scavenger hunt in the name of eternal small-town glory
With only a week until graduation, there’s one last thing Mary and her friends must do together: participate in the Oyster Point High Official Unofficial Senior Week Scavenger Hunt. And Mary is determined to win.

Mary lost her spot at Georgetown to self-professed “it” bully Pete Lembo, and she’s not about to lose again. But everyone is racing for the finish line with complicated motives, and the team’s all-night adventure becomes all-night drama as shifting alliances, flared tempers, and crushing crushes take over. As the items and points pile up, Mary and her team must reinvent their strategy—and themselves—in order to win.

Why I'm waiting for The Best Night of Your (Pathetic) Life:

Aside from the fabulous cover, reading about a scavenger hunt sounds like fun! And even though no one dies in this particular type of hunt (been reading too much dystopian novels) it's as crazy as it can be with alliances, conflicts, people outsmarting each other and feelings getting in the way! I'd love to read about all of that!

  3. haha it's quite funny, as I read the synopsis for The Best Night of your (Pathetic) Life I thought 'it would be cool if it was a murder mystery) and then you mention no dying haha. I haven't been reading too much Dystopian lately... guess I'm just a morbid person lol!

    Great Choices!
